World of Innovation

Attendees are invited to visit the 3M headquarter in Neuss, Germany on 23 September 2013 at 17:00.

Visitors will explore the company and its technologies in a new way ─ a multimedia exhibit called ’3M World of Innovation’. The ‘augmented reality’ exhibit brings 3M products to life through a mix of physical displays and digital content.

The new 3M World of Innovation features a 50-foot-long exhibit consisting of two movable transparent touch screens, which are used in combination with physical objects to show visitors 30 different products and solutions from across the company.

This technology makes it easy to showcase in-depth information or demonstration videos simply by touching the screens. The products and product information can be changed at any time to reflect current topics.

The high-tech product display is complemented by two other features that center on the 3M brand itself. First, the ‘Focus Area’ is dedicated to providing data about the company, including information about sustainability, innovation, career opportunities and the corporate culture. Next, the ‘Boarding Area’ gives visitors the opportunity to take a look at the company — that is, to watch videos about 3M via built-in motion sensors that guide the experience. Presentations tailored to specific customer groups can also be projected onto the walls from a centralised content-management system.
