Process Development and Manufacturing

GE Healthcare Life Sciences supports customers with advanced technologies for efficient and flexible process development and manufacture of biopharmaceuticals, helping to shorten time to market, increase output, and assure quality. GE Healthcare Life Sciences products are used upstream and downstream, for chromatography, filtration and disposable processing, and at all scales from laboratory to production. They are used in the development and manufacture of the majority of all FDA approved biopharmaceuticals currently on the market.

MabSelect:  The family of Protein A capture media optimised to give high productivity and throughput of monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) at production scale. Includes MabSelect SuRe featuring improved NaOH stability, MabSelect, and MabSelect Xtra.

Capto:  Ion exchange and multimodal media that combine high binding capacity with high flow velocity and low back pressure, providing high flow rate processing and unique selectivity. Includes Capto MMC, Capto adhere, Capto S, Capto Q, and Capto DEAE.

PreDictor plates:  96 well filter plates filled with Capto, MabSelect and other Bioprocess media that enable parallel screening of chromatographic conditions in manual or automated mode. Assist software for data management and evaluation.

AxiChrom column platform: Intelligent packing with pre-programmed, verified packing methods simplifies packing and achieves optimal bed compressions with high reproducibility. Novel tube designs and guidance through key steps facilitate safer maintenance and easier access to parts.

ÄKTA system platform with UNICORN software:  Includes ÄKTA avant, AKTApilot and ÄKTAprocess chromatography systems; filtration systems include ÄKTAcrossflow, and UniFlux.

ReadyToProcess platform:  Ready for use products that provide maximum flexibility in bioprocessing. The platform includes ReadyToProcess prepacked columns, normal and cross flow filters, ReadyMate connectors, ÄKTA ready chromatography system, disposable WAVE Bioreactor technology and the new ReadyCircuits program.

Hollow Fiber UF and MF membranes:  Scalable cross flow (CFF/TFF) devices and systems that allow for optimisation in vaccines and MAb processing, upstream or downstream. Kvick cassette flat sheet formats (CFF) offer additional options for high UF membrane packing density. Comprehensive range of ULTA normal flow filter products also available.

Biacore and MicroCal systems:  Range of label free analysis systems that provides complementary and detailed information on biomolecular stability and interactions that are critical to monitor in biotherapeutic development and production. Includes Biacore C, Biacore T100, iTC200, AUTO-iTC200, and VP-Capillary DSC systems.

Fast Trak services provide consulting, validation, and education support in planning, developing, implementing, and documenting upstream and downstream processes, from start up to routine production.
